Dennis, a double amputee from his service in Vietnam, had received a Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) government Grant from the Veteran’s Administration (VA) which provided funds for making changes in his home providing greater accessibility.

Although this highly decorated soldier was in good physical condition, Dennis began to realize that despite his athleticism  existing barriers were becoming harder to overcome.

That’s where Dennis met Dean...

Dean has worked in the design build arena for nearly 20 years, and has won awards, including the Livable
Communities Award for his work in accessibility design.  This coveted award is cosponsored by AARP & the National Association of Home Builders. Dean has been designated a Certified Aging In Place Specialist (CAPS) by the National Association of Home Builders.

Dennis and his wife were so impressed with the work of Green Construction’s on one of their family members homes, they hired them with great enthusiasm.  Dean provided five unique layout options in an effort to address all their accessibility concerns. The design they chose was perfectly suited for their needs and …they were elated with the results.
