Mold in Your Home is Dangerous
There a few situations that carry the potential to unsettle Central Florida homeowners like a mold problem. In sub-tropical states like ours, mold spores can replicate quickly. Everyone knows mold is dangerous. According to studies from the Institute of Medicine (IOM) published by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), evidence suggests a link between indoor mold growth and a range of upper respiratory issues in adults and children. If let untreated, it has the potential to adversely affect the health and wellbeing of residents.
Importance of Treatment
Once the interior of your home is exposed to a moisture intrusion, mold spores can replicate within 48-72 hours. In a 2-3 week period, the spores can colonize into a vast hyphae system (“tree root system” for mold) which can continue to expand if not remediated properly. IF you find evidence of mold growth in your home, keep several points in mind.
Do not spray standard household bleach/ammonia cleaners on mold. They aren’t strong enough to kill the hyphae system.

Green Construction Services offers a free initial consultation for Central Florida homeowners in which we conduct an assessment of the mold growth problem in your home. Our team is professionally trained to identify the source of the moisture intrusion which is feeding the hyphae system, the “root system” of mold spores. Often times this occurs as a result of a water leak in the roof, walls, or foundation. We use the latest technology to pin point the source of the problem to ensure comprehensive remediation. During the consultation, our team will walk you through the entire process we take to return your home to order. We can also help you review your home insurance policy for mold coverage and work with the adjuster to ensure you receive the full benefits of your policy (should you carry mold coverage).
Mold Remediation Process
Upon inspection by an independent assessor (per F.S. 468.8419 (d)) and testing of the mold in your home in a laboratory, Green Construction will create a protocol specific to the type of mold growth in your home. Our team will then seal off the area for proper containment, as well as establish proper air filtration systems on the inside and outside of the area. The mold removal process commences based on the predetermined protocol which may include drywall (and other organic material) removal, HEPA vacuum systems, and damp and wire brush techniques. Once all contaminated material is removed from the home, our team begins the restoration process. Our teams are specifically trained in clean-up processes to ensure the worksite is professional and well kept. At Green Construction, our main focus is to leave your home looking “better than before!”
